Clear Path After

Terms of use

Last updated October 28, 2026. In plain words, here is how Clear Path After works and what we each agree to.

What Clear Path After is

Clear Path After is an online guide that helps families with the practical steps after a death: a checklist, a finder for licensed funeral homes, crematories and cemeteries, a death-notice message, an obituary writer, and optional paid tools. It is a guide, not legal, medical, financial or funeral-planning advice. We do not arrange funerals, cremations or burials, and we are not a funeral establishment.

Provider listings and prices

Listings show providers by location, posted price and California Cemetery and Funeral Bureau license status. Prices come from each provider's own published price list on the date shown and can change. Always confirm the total price with the provider before you agree to anything. Listing a provider is not an endorsement. No provider pays to be listed or to be shown higher, and we take no fee from any provider. You choose a provider and sign with them directly; your agreement is with them, not with us.

Free and paid tools

The checklist, provider finder, death-notice message and obituary writer are free. The optional Photo notice and Family Pass are one-time payments with no subscription. Organization licenses renew yearly unless canceled before the renewal date. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

Refunds

To ask for a refund, use the Help page or email support@clearpathafter.com.

What you share

When you create a notice, memorial page or organization guide, you confirm you have the right to share the names, photos and details you add, and that you send notices only to people who would want to receive them. Do not post anything unlawful, hateful or that belongs to someone else without permission. We may remove content that breaks these rules. You keep ownership of what you share and give us permission to host and display it so the tools work.

Organizations

Organizations that license a branded guide are responsible for the name, logo, message and resources they add, and for keeping their private setup link safe. Organizations see only a count of how often their guide was opened, never who opened it.

Limits

We work hard to keep listings, license checks and guidance current, but rules and prices change, and the site is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, Clear Path After is not responsible for decisions made with providers or agencies, or for losses that come from relying on information you did not confirm. Nothing here limits rights you have under California or federal consumer law.

Changes and contact
